Experience

Walk with us on the People’s Path—the Anicinabe Mikana. We look forward to welcoming you to our unceded territory, community and centre.

The Great Hall

The Great Hall is a four-part exhibition that guides you through our ways of living from time immemorial, through the arrival of colonists and the challenges we experienced through the 19th and 20th centuries, to the present day with the community and culture that we celebrate today.

The Exhibit Hall and Gathering Space

At the heart of the Centre is the Gathering Space. Take part in a welcoming workshop or guided visit; spend time with staff or sit quietly and read the 7 Grandfather Teachings that surround you in the space.

Outdoor Experiences

The Anicinabe Mikana Centre is the first structure to greet you as you enter our community—acting as a bridge between the village centre and the lake. Water is central to our way of life and our identity.

Café

Sample some of our delicious Algonquin-inspired snacks and light meals, or just stop in for coffee or tea.

Gift Shop

From our own Kebaowek First Nation artists and artisans, we invite you to take home a piece of Algonquin Anicinabe culture. Our gift shop features original art and craft from our own community.

Tours and Experiences

We offer guided tours of our Great Hall exhibits twice daily. The Cultural Centre offers language workshops, arts and crafts and skills demonstrations, and special concerts and events throughout the year.
